With thirty years’ worth of research, teaching, and consulting experience, Mario Moussa brings a wealth of experience to creating nimble organizations. A globally recognized management expert, he will explain how to access the full power of your culture by harnessing the Four Forces that drive it.

“Think of the Four Forces as the water, soil, sunlight, and skill it takes to make a garden healthy and productive,” he writes in his new book, The Culture Puzzle (co-authored with Derek Newberry and Greg Urban). When leaders nourish their teams with support and encouragement, they are rewarded with a bountiful harvest. The most successful companies satisfy employees’ thirst to do meaningful work, gain respect, and be part of a vibrant community.

Participants in this session will be introduced to the four-part Culture Evaluator. The results will guide them in building the kinds of companies that serve all stakeholders and thrive in a world of constant transformation.

Presenter Biography: 

Mario Moussa is a noted author, keynote speaker, and management consultant who advises senior leaders about top team effectiveness, organizational culture, and large-scale change initiatives. He has delivered workshops on leadership, strategic persuasion and collaboration to thousands of executives in New York, San Francisco, Beijing, Shanghai, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, London, Istanbul, and other major cities around the world. His work has been featured on National Public Radio as well as in leading publications, including Time Magazine, Business Week, U.S. News and World Report, Fortune, Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur, The Economist, The Financial Times, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.  Currently, he is President of Moussa Consulting and Affiliated Faculty in Liberal and Professional Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mario is also the co-creator of Wharton Executive Education's Strategic Persuasion Workshop: The Art and Science of Selling Ideas. He has also led the design of customized leadership development programs for organizations in a wide variety of sectors, including financial and professional services, pharmaceuticals, energy, healthcare, higher education, and government. By connecting the classroom and the boardroom, he closes the gap between cutting-edge research and business experience. His work is based on simple, repeatable techniques that deliver results in today’s turbulent economic climate.

In his book Committed Teams: Three Steps to Inspiring Passion and Performance, he and co-authors Madeline Boyer and Derek Newberry use vivid real-world stories to describe a process for building great teams.
