"CEOs' Perspective and Expectations of Talent Development"

As talent development professionals, we believe we play a critical role in our organization.  But what do our CEOs think?  What role(s) do they want talent development to play? How do they see us as helping create a competitive advantage for the organization? What do they expect of their talent development leaders?  And what do they want talent development professionals to know so they can have the positive impact desired?

This year we will have a panel discussion with CEOs who "get" talent development:
Mike Capone, CEO of Qlik
Dr. Mike Mittleman, President of Salus University
Bruce K. Foulke, President/CEO of American Heritage Credit Union

Meet our presenters:

Mike Capone, CEO
Qlik

Mike Capone leads Qlik’s mission to create a data-literate world, one where people, businesses, organizations and governments tackle their most complex challenges with data. He has first-hand experience in leveraging the power of data through analytics to transform businesses and entire industries. In addition to his extensive experience in high-growth SaaS companies, Mike was the COO of Medidata Solutions, a publicly-traded provider of SaaS analytics solutions to the Healthcare, Life Sciences and Pharma markets. There he played a significant role in the company’s product development, data science, professional services and go-to-market operations, accelerating its strategy to provide a comprehensive cloud platform that leverages data and analytics to transform clinical trials.

Prior to Medidata, Mike held senior leadership positions at ADP including Corporate Vice President of Product Development, CIO, and SVP & General Manager of ADP’s global outsourcing business. He was also head of product development and technology operations for ADP, one of the world’s largest B2B cloud services providers, delivering critical services to over 600,000 companies and 39 million of their staff members worldwide.

Mike holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Dickinson College and a master of business administration degree in finance from Pace University.

Dr. Mike Mittleman, President
Salus University

Dr. Michael Mittleman is the sixth president in the 100-year history of Salus University.  Salus University is a private university in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, specializing in degree programs for the health care professions (Optometry, Audiology, Physicians Assistant, etc.). Dr. Mittleman earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He also has a Master of Public Health and an MBA.

Beginning as an optometrist in the Navy, Dr. Mittleman served with distinction for more than three decades in the U.S. Navy in a succession of increasingly responsible, mission-critical command positions, retiring with the rank of Rear Admiral (Upper Half), having served as Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy.

A small sample of Dr. Mittleman's accomplishments include being the first in many things: Navy aerospace optometrist, optometrist to command a major naval hospital (in Okinawa, Japan), non-medical doctor to serve as the command general surgeon for the U.S. Joint Forces, and the list goes on.
